1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do with Sendly's Service. It applies to every message, campaign, contact list, Sender ID, and API call sent through your account, including by your team members and anything sent through your API keys. Violating this AUP is a violation of our Terms of Service.
2. Prohibited content
You may not use Sendly to send messages that:
- Are illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive under Nigerian law or the law of the recipient's location.
- Impersonate another person, business, or Sender ID you are not authorized to use.
- Contain phishing links, malware, or attempts to obtain sensitive information (passwords, card numbers, PINs, OTPs) under false pretenses.
- Harass, threaten, defame, or incite violence or hatred against any individual or group.
- Promote illegal gambling, unlicensed lending, pyramid or Ponzi schemes, or counterfeit goods.
- Violate the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party.
3. Prohibited sending practices
- Sending messages to recipients who have not consented to receive them, or who have opted out.
- Purchasing, scraping, or otherwise acquiring contact lists without a lawful basis to message the people on them.
- Sending unsolicited promotional or marketing messages that do not comply with our Anti-Spam Policy.
- Disguising the true origin or purpose of a message, or misrepresenting the sender.
- Attempting to bypass Sendly's rate limits, Sender ID approval process, or content review.
- Using the Service to test, probe, or attack Sendly's systems or any third party's systems without authorization.
4. Account and API security
- Keep your password and API keys confidential; you are responsible for activity under credentials you control.
- Do not share API keys across unrelated organizations or expose them in public code or client-side applications.
- Report any suspected unauthorized access to your account immediately.
5. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe your account is being used to violate this AUP, we may warn you, require corrective action, hold or reject affected messages, suspend the relevant Sender ID, suspend your account, or terminate it — depending on the severity and repetition of the violation. Serious violations (fraud, phishing, harassment, illegal content) may result in immediate suspension without prior notice, and may be reported to relevant authorities.
6. Reporting abuse
If you believe a Sendly customer is misusing the Service — including sending you unwanted messages — contact us at info@sendly.ng or 0701 352 1801 with as much detail as possible (sender name, message content, date and time received).
